    We are currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), to join our high performing team based at Hobart airport. The main function of this role is to carry out maintenance on Jetstar aircraft in a timely and safe manner, in accordance with company requirements. We want to hear from you if you are logical, can see the big picture, and do not mind working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment. We work in a dynamic environment, and you will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to this team.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager, some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Carry out maintenance on company aircraft
  • Quality Control for aircraft presentation upon completion of maintenance and prior to release to service
  • Delivering quality and reliable maintenance and rectification services to a high standard Ensuring all WHS and Quality policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure timely and correct completion of all work carried out
  • Comply with Jetstar’s Safety Management System
  • Required to work at other ports (including international locations) as required
  • Comply with all Jetstar training and compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with contractors and outside service providers

We’re on the hunt for someone who:

  • Completion of Certificate IV in Aeroskills, with previous A320/321 experience desirable
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience in Line and/or Base Maintenance
  • Proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
  • Hold a valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers Licence
  • Able to perform shift work
