The H-47 Chinook Airframes team is seeking a Senior / Lead Technical Designer to join our team in Ridley Park PA. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: conceptualizing new designs, creating and releasing detailed engineering for both new customer platform variants as well as current in production variants, supporting factory production and suppliers with engineering updates. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of H-47 engineering, stress, mechanical systems, electrical systems, production engineering, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.
THIS POSITION MUST MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS. TO MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS, A “U.S. PERSON” AS DEFINED BY 22 C.F.R. §120.15 IS REQUIRED. “U.S. PERSON” INCLUDES U.S. CITIZEN, LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT, REFUGEE, OR ASYLEE.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (see education and experience for the levels below)
- 3+ years of experience in Aircraft Design
- 3+ years of experience in Aircraft Structures
- 3+ years of experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- Aircraft Modification experience
- Composite Engineering and Manufacturing experience
- Dassault Systems CATIA (Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application) experience
- Model-Based Definition (MBD) experience
- Model Based Engineering experience
Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and maintenance of engineering product definition. Oversees the development of design layouts and the modification of existing designs to satisfy customer and production requirements.
- Develops engineering product definition based upon Company requirements and parameters.
- Coordinates development of engineering product definition with internal/external parties to ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements and design parameters as well as product functionality.
- Integrates work statement, work scope and work transfer packages with internal and external customers to requirements.
- Oversees, directs and integrates the completion of product definition across internal and external business partners and products to provide a functional end-product.
- Investigates and resolves complex manufacturing process or engineering related issues.
- Verifies accuracy of engineering data produced by others. In office, opportunities exist for travel and OT depending on tasks & assignments.
