    The Opportunity
    Jetstar’s Airport Services team play a pivotal role in supporting the operational excellence of our passionate, frontline airport team. Creating a safe and enjoyable customer experience is at the heart of what we do. A unique and exciting opportunity as the Airport Training Specialist, you will continuously assess training needs and practices, guaranteeing that our training meets the highest standards for safety, compliance, and efficiency.
    Reporting to the Aircraft Turnaround Training Manager, you will take charge of training delivery, including train the trainer certification, crafting engaging content and aligning of training materials with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assessment of content suitability and delivery methods to ensure they meet best-practice learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivering training by utilising approved training packages and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitating training outcomes through the delivery of materials, discussions and interactions with Training Cohort.
  • Create, develop, edit, and share learning materials using a variety of technology and communicate to effected stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of training activity including action planning to correct
  • Work closely with Airport crew to ensure the delivery of credible and relevant training. Seek and provide feedback on training techniques, behaviours and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversight on current and required Trainer capabilities in all Jetstar Airports, assess quality of training delivered and develop training action plans post airport visits and close gaps of non-compliance
  • Training and coaching approved Jetstar Trainers in all related training programs, forms and documentation.
  • Oversee and lead the training delivery for new airport setups/re-launches
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of training activity including action planning to correct deficiencies and information on trainer/airport training performance and knowledge/skill level
  • Assist with investigations and audits in relation to training outcomes or deficiencies.
  • Consult with other trainers, managers, and leadership team including attendance at scheduled training meetings on best outcomes
  • Constant reviewing of industry standards and best practices for ongoing improvements
  • Develop and implement training plans, corrective actions, and materials in consultation with Aircraft Turnaround Training Manager
  • Review and pilot created training materials and ensure recognition of prior learning (RPL) standards are current and meet our requirements as per OM15C

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience in workplace training, training design, facilitation and/or coaching
  • In-depth knowledge experience in Airline RAMP/Below Wing Operations
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Intermediate or above in various airline systems and utilise Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc
  • Flexibility to travel, both domestically and internationally is essential, along with a current passport for interstate and international locations, when required.
  • Therefore, you must hold a valid passport for travel and not have any restrictions that may prevent you from entering a state/country, if required to do so. This may include school holidays, public holidays etc.
  • Must hold a valid Australian state-issued car licence
  • No restrictions that would prevent the individual from obtaining an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), Airside Drivers Authority (ADA) or any other licences/access required for an airport environment.
  • Learning Technology and Design Experience such as the ability to create, develop, edit, and share learning content using a variety of Articulate, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, WordPress, Video production and editing and other visual design tools is desirable
  • Managing and performing administrative tasks within a Learning Management Systems such as WorkDay, Kineo or similar LMS is desirable
  • Train the Trainer Certified and/or Certificate IV Training and Assessment is desirable
  • Safety, Quality Assurance or Auditing experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of third-party contract relationships and Service Level Agreements is desirable
