RELEVANT EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or Degree in Science or related discipline
- Hands on experience in a laboratory environment
- Ability to prioritise work in order to meet daily deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
BVAQ Chemistry Department is seeking to appoint Allergen Level II in our North Melbourne office. You will be directly responsible for conducting routine sample preparation and food testing. You will also conduct a wide range of tests using manual, semi-automated and fully automated techniques.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working safely
- Contribute to the quality objectives
- Using the laboratory application software
- Performing technical tasks to prepare samples and conducting simple routine tests using manual or semi-automated techniques
- Batching samples and printing labels, sample receipt and batching, homogenising, and weighing of samples as required.
- Performing housekeeping tasks such as preparation of reagents, kit receipt, ordering consumables, 5S tasks and maintaining and cleaning equipment and instruments
- Receiving and logging in samples using laboratory application software
- Plus any other duties as required, as matched to your competence and ability to perform
