Description:

Eligible Health Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive Scheme

The roleProvide innovative and effective strategic leadership and management of four medium sized multidisciplinary rural Allied Health teams delivering high quality, patient focussed Allied Health services in acute, community and outreach settings. This includes:

  • Operational management of THHS multidisciplinary rural Allied Health teams.
  • Management of financial, asset, and human resources across THHS rural allied health services.
  • Service evaluation and strategic planning for the rural allied health workforce to support the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable rural allied health services for the THHS.
  • Management of quality improvement, risk mitigation, and service enhancement activities across four rural allied health services.

Generous remuneration package value up to $167,587 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $5081.10 - $5516.60 p.f. (HP5)
  • Annual leave loading + leave

Role requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree qualification in a relevant Allied Health discipline from a recognised accredited tertiary institution from one of the following disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, and Dietetics.
  • While not mandatory, possession of postgraduate qualifications in health services management or postgraduate related clinical or business development is highly desirable.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class c motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
  • Travel by light aircraft and / or road within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service may be necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level leadership and change management skills to drive the strategic direction of THHS rural allied health services.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication skills including effective advocacy, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills for application at a strategic level with internal and external THHS stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge to operationally manage Allied Health teams and services including operational planning, financial, asset, and human resource management; and to ensure compliance with legislative and THHS mandatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multidisciplinary Allied Health clinical practice in acute, community, and outreach settings within a Rural and Remote Health Service framework.
  • Foster cohesive, cooperative and collaborative working relations within the multidisciplinary Allied Health teams and across other professional streams to ensure effective service delivery and high quality patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level professional integrity and strong work ethic reflected in effective self-management, a focus to drive improvement, resilience, and an ability to apply sound decision making.
