Team Overview:
The Alternatives Client Services team support all of BlackRock’s privately placed alternatives products, including hedge funds, fund of hedge funds, private credit, private equity, special opportunity, and real asset funds. The successful candidate will join the Alternatives Client Services team in providing timely and accurate information to our clients and prospects that is consistent with the established BlackRock brand and messaging. Responsibilities for this position will involve a heavy concentration in operations and client service. This includes communication with internal and external stakeholders, client inquiries, report oversight and distribution, and other maintenance related tasks. As a key member of the team, you will coordinate with departments and business lines across the firm. The role offers an opportunity to join a fast paced and growing business within BlackRock. Your daily tasks may include:

  • Perform the day-to-day operations and service delivery of the alternative investments team, ensuring high quality and timely execution of tasks.
  • Manage distribution of fund and investor level reporting (i.e. account statements, capital calls, distributions)
  • Coordinate cash flow management with clients and portfolio managers (e.g. contributions, redemptions, and product updates with clients / 3rd parties). Tracking and handling client cash flow activity within proprietary trading system
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and 3rd parties, providing proactive and responsive communication and issue resolution.
  • Manage the relationship with fund administrators, custodians, transfer agents, and other external service providers, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and contractual obligations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
  • Participate in various projects and initiatives related to alternative investments, such as new product launches, system enhancements, or business integrations.
  • Provide oversight locally on high priority operations and client service tasks.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and development.

Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in client service, operations, or administration in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of alternative investment products, such as hedge funds, private equity, and real assets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, 3rd parties, internal stakeholders and team members.
  • Experience in guiding a team through escalations and operating errors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex inquiries and requests.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to adhere to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

For Seattle only the salary range for this position is $95,000 – $127,500.0. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
