As the AMHS (Automated Material Handling System) Simulation SMTS (Senior Member of the Technical Staff) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of Micron’s Global Factory Automation team which is responsible for crafting Micron’s next generation AMHS solutions!
Your objective is to develop full factory and tool level simulation models that will be used to advise the design and validate capabilities of industry leading manufacturing facilities across the globe. You will lead a diverse group of highly skilled simulation professionals who are responsible for maintaining the simulation business process and validating manufacturing site capabilities with each new business plan. In addition, you will partner with Micron’s SMAI (Smart-Manufacturing & Artificial Intelligence) team to develop innovative applications that blend SMAI and your simulation models to deliver word-class, trail blazing, capabilities that solidify our manufacturing leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain system and tool level simulation models for Micron’s global network or manufacturing facilities.
  • Generate the simulation models for green field construction projects, providing direct feedback, considerations, and ground-breaking ideas into the design process.
  • Establish and maintain Micron’s global standard simulation business process.
  • Collect and analyze AMHS system performance date for Micron’s manufacturing sites to identify system behavior, recommend design changes, and identify new processes that will improve Micron’s overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain a simulation data repository (SharePoint) that can be used for historical validation as well as information sharing across multiple departments.
  • Collaborate with Planning, SMAI, Layout, and Construction teams proficiently to understand Micron’s Long-Range Plan to ensure you are taking such considerations into account into your simulation activity.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience (MS Degree Preferred)
  • Ten years’ specific and meaningful experience
  • Proven track record of optimally simulating large, sophisticated, semiconductor factory automation systems
  • Expert proficiency using DEMO/Emulate 3D, AutoMod, or other similar simulation software applications
  • Direct experience with Muratec, Daifuku, or Asyst Shinko AMHS systems
  • Proficient in English both verbal and written
