WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years experience in AML QA/QC with 2+ years in a leadership position
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian AML legislation, including Financial Transactions Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), and Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA)
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (ACFCS) certifications or equivalent designations will be considered an asset.
  • University Degree in Law, Business, Economics, Management or other relevant fields is an asset
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences including senior management
  • You think strategically, and understand how risk strategies impact the big picture
  • You take a collaborative approach and engage purposely with key stakeholders
  • You have experience in a fast-paced environment where competing priorities, uncertain outcomes, and iteration are part of the norm

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Director of AML, the Manager of QA/QC will execute risk-based and efficient Quality Assurance (QA) Reviews to improve the caliber of investigative and regulatory reporting practices and controls, as well as mitigating the regulatory and reputational risks to Neo.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • You implement and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures with the goal of continuously enhancing Neo’s AML programs
  • You manage effectiveness of AML practices, including CDD/EDD, High Risk Client Management, Transaction Monitoring, Unusual Transaction Reports, regulatory reporting to FINTRAC, and associated technologies
  • You provide periodic reporting to senior management and offer recommendations to remediate quality deficiencies
  • You develop, implement, and maintain testing and oversight processes to support the Compliance and reporting programs
  • You create and maintain AML documentation that adheres to internal and external review standards, including Audit and Regulatory review
  • You’re up to date on all things AML - from current banking and regulatory issues to training tools and audit processes
  • You participate in, and lead, certain Compliance projects as neededYou act as the main point of contact for escalations, providing informed observations to identify gaps and trends
