Job Description
About Bose
You know the moment. It’s the first notes of that song you love, the intro to your favorite movie, or simply the sound of someone you love saying “hello”. It’s in these moments that sound matters most.
At Bose, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth. We’ve dedicated ourselves to improving it for nearly 60 years. And we’re passionate about making whatever you’re listening to a little more magical.
About the team
Based in our Bloomfield Hills, MI office, the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) will be responsible to develop and integrate amplifiers into new and existing automotive Bose premium audio systems. This requires a strong technical background in project management of automotive electronics and on-device software.
The EPM will interface with a cross-functional team, collaborating with Electronic, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineers, as well as Purchasing, Material Planning, Supplier Quality and Logistics.
The EPM is responsible for communicating customer requirements and guiding the team’s efforts toward meeting them. They serve as the primary point of communication for both internal and external customers for your projects. The EPM manages schedules, track deliveries and milestones, generate progress reports, direct drawing and documentation revisions, and coordinate problem solving as needed. They will also be responsible for meeting all projects objectives including performance, cost, reliability and quality, and schedule attainment.
About You
You love engineering and project management. You enjoy working with different teams on a common outcome. You feel accomplished when different work streams come together to deliver a finished product. You are always looking to improve communication and seek out efficiencies.
You are a curious, continuous learner. You have a contagious curiosity for all things. You’re skeptical of “the way we do things.” You’re eager to learn things you don’t already know. You are always learning and progressing. You challenge yourself both personally and professionally.
You seek collaboration. You are easy to work with and have strong social and communication skills that ensure you understand, relate to, and connect with our customers and your team. You will manage the complete life cycle of automotive amplifier applications.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
Project Management experience in automotive electronic module development
Experience in managing complex projects
Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
Strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrated problem solving ability within a technical environment
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated and strong initiative to execute projects with the right quality, on budget, and on time
