  This job is based with a leading provider of secondary healthcare services in the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough regions, employing a team of approximately 3,000 professionals in four hospitals, a district-wide public health service, and four community health Centres.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Specialist Anaesthetist will become the eighth team member and contribute to the anaesthesia and pain management services and education of junior doctors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), or equivalent.
• Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration of Anaesthesia with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

• Contribute your anaesthesia expertise in a secondary care hospital setting.
• Participate in the 1:8 Anaesthetics on-call after hour’s roster for emergency department and obstetric needs.
• Handle daytime acute and elective theatres, pre-anaesthetic check clinics, and acute anaesthetist duties.
• Support and provide guidance to junior medical workforce during ED or medical rotations.
