We are currently looking for a new member for the Local Back Office team to join us in the position of Analyst, Accounting & Tax.
Working Place: Sonae Sierra’s Central Offices in Germany
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified accountant or tax advisory assistant, with a degree in any relevant areas;
- At least 3 years of professional experience of working in a multinational environment;
- Good knowledge of accounting principles (Local GAAP and IFRS);
- Fluent English and German (mandatory);
- Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel) and SAP knowledge is a plus;
- Solid problem-solving/logic reasoning and excelent analytical skills;
- Critical stance, attention to detail and proactivity, with the ability to suggest and implement improvements;
- Organizational and planning capabilities, having the ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing circumstances;
- Good communication and relational skills, being comfortable working independently as well as in a team
Responsibilities:
Support Sonae Sierra’s local tax compliance and statutory obligations, namely by:
- Contribute to the drafting of financial statements;
- Submit advance VAT returns;
- Review preliminary tax files and quarterly reporting packages;
- Clarify tax matters with the local tax advisor;
- Deal with internal and external auditor requests in connection with the year-end closing, tax inspections and other audited processes;
- Provide statistical reporting to state authorities;
- File tax assessment notices and other documents in Sierra’s archiving system;
Support local compliance with Sonae Sierra’s internal procedures/regulations and the production of accurate management information for Sierra group, mainly by:
- Interact with various departments inside Sierra’s Shared Services Center (e.g., Accounting, Contract management, Treasury) in Portugal and local staff in the Shopping Centres regarding accounting and reporting matters;
- Create purchase orders in the internal procurement system, invoice processing and follow-up the approval workflow;
- Support Budget follow-up and performance analysis for Sierra’s companies in Germany;
Support Sonae Sierra’s accounting, tax compliance and reporting obligations to its third-party clients in Germany, mainly by:
- Support the tax consultants and investment managers on behalf of the ownership of the Shopping Centres to clarify doubts and to fulfill external requirements;
- Address queries regarding monthly closing data submitted to external parties;
- Responsible for the reporting files considering the monthly closing data of 3 Shopping Centres;
- Liaise with client contacts in order to clarify questions or set-up necessary flows of information, meetings or training sessions as needed;
