WHAT YOU BRING:

  • University Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant field
  • 1-3 years related work experience in an analytical role. Experience in Retail, Loyalty, CPG industry, Finance an asset
  • Advanced SQL is mandatory
  • Strong MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Google BigQuery, Teradata, Nielsen is a strong asset
  • Programming skills in various languages including Python and R is an asset
  • Additionally experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Qlik Sense, Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into insights
  • Strong ability to build presentation materials and explain complex ideas in a clear and articulate way
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable collaborating with stakeholders
  • Basic financial and retail business understanding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions

Responsibilities:

WHY IS THIS ROLE IMPORTANT :

The Strategy & Customer Insights team analyzes data, identifies insights, and formulates strategic plans to inform business decisions and drive growth using a customer-centric approach. We are hiring an Analyst, Analytics & Customer Insights within the ‘Hard Discount’ Division (No Frills & Maxi). Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Customer Insights, the incumbent will be accountable for championing data analytics and consumer insights across a wide range of initiatives to inform divisional strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be responsible for the extraction, review, and preparation of complex operational and customer data from a variety of databases (GCP, Teradata, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources, including loyalty & customer transaction data, consumer & syndicated research, market share, and campaign results
  • Interpret data to generate meaningful insights with the objective to solve business problems, identify new opportunities, and drive strategy
  • Prepare presentation materials and simplify complex topics for audiences at all levels including senior management
  • Work collaboratively with other teams including Category, Loyalty, and Data Science
