Description:

Req ID: 61124
Department: Tech Institutional Regulatory & Risk
Division: Technology
Location: Sydney
About the role
At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We’re making this happen by improving the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers so they can achieve incredible things– whether they’re buying a home, building a business, or saving for things big or small.
As an Analyst in the Balance Sheet and Treasury team, you’ll need a strong grasp of the Markets business landscape. This understanding helps fine-tune what’s needed and ensures the squad’s solutions are top-notch. You’ll collaborate with Front Office traders and Market Risk teams to figure out what the business truly needs, solve tough problems, and create solutions that match our strategic technology roadmap. You’ll also partner with other tech teams to resolve dependencies. Knowing about Fixed Income products is a must for this role.
You’ll be part of an internal Risk engine located within the Regulatory and Risk tech area, which serves Non-Traded Market Risk, Front Office trading, and Finance teams.
As part of an agile team, you join daily scrum meetings and participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions every two weeks. Throughout the day, you’ll liaise with Business stakeholders globally, helping them understand existing risk and Pnl calculations and offering solutions to their issues. Collaborating closely with global Front Office teams, you’ll identify their challenges, learn their processes, and create tailored solutions. You have a solid understanding of interest rate risk curve development, trade risk assessment, Pnl modelling, and ability to document detailed calculations for diverse metrics including but not limited to MV, Accruals, Funding, VAR and more. You’ll ensure consistency across regions, aiming to build reusable solutions while engaging the right stakeholders. Working alongside Quant developers, you’ll implement necessary Risk and Pnl modelling changes for Front Office traders, documenting requirements for developers, and testing solutions, seeking approvals from stakeholders, and ensuring the feature is promoted to production with adequate quality and on time. Flexibility is key as you’ll handle both functional and technical tasks within the team, fostering a collaborative environment. Part of your role will involve close collaboration with Front Office and Market Risk teams worldwide, necessitating flexibility with time zones to accommodate the needs of teams in the US and Europe when gathering requirements.
