Description:
Macquarie Capital offers global capability in strategic advisory, corporate restructuring, M&A advisory, Debt and Equity Capital Markets and Principal Finance underpinned by deep specialist expertise across a range of sectors.
As an Analyst/Associate, you will work closely with members Macquarie Capital Group on transactions and opportunities, completing complex financial analysis for clients, researching the industry for potential opportunities and assisting the team with drafting relevant transaction documents for deal execution.

What role you will play?
- Development and interpretation of financial models including derivation of assumptions and forecasts, building out key drivers and financial statements (balance sheet, cash flow statement, P&L) on a monthly / semi-annual / annual basis
- Research of potential mergers, acquisitions and divestments in the industry including the identification of potential targets/ acquirers and synergy analysis
- Compiling pitchbooks and performing industry analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and comparables analysis for different companies in the industry based on ratios and market data
- Employing a range of valuation methods (DCF, trading multiples, transaction multiples, LBO) for both asset and business valuations
- Interpreting financial models including analysing sensitivity of earnings and valuations to changes in key assumptions and generating outputs and compiling them into presentations to clients
- Interpreting financial statements based on historical and forecast data, analysing profitability, cost base and margins and analysing revenue, cost and earnings trajectories
- Analysis of precedent transactions
- Data room/due diligence management and reviewing client/ counterparty information and identifying key risks to a transaction
- Drafting of client documents/ presentations, such as management presentations and information memorandums
What you offer
- At least 1-2 years’ of experience in a similar role/industry
- Tertiary degree in commerce, accounting and/or finance
- Strong technical specialist skills, with sound business and market knowledge and excellent numerical skills
- Planning and organisational skills, as well as sound verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Understand the importance of escalating complex situations and corporate standards
- Be committed and flexible, with ability to work in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
