Description:

Join our team as a Business Intelligence Analyst II! In this role you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence. You’ll drive informed decision-making through proficient data analysis and preparation. Enhance accessibility and usability of data-driven insights through advanced visualization and report design.
We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and preparing data for reporting and analysis purposes. Understanding business requirements, querying databases using SQL, and transforming data into usable formats.
  • Monitoring data loads to ensure they complete successfully and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Diagnosing data integration problems, optimizing data extraction processes, and collaborating with IT teams for resolution. Tracking issues and resolutions including updating and managing a web-based case management system.
  • Developing visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Power BI. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their visualization needs and designing compelling and insightful visual representations of data.
  • Leading the design and testing of business results reports, ensuring they meet stakeholders’ requirements for accuracy, completeness, and usability. Gathering report specifications, formatting data, and conducting thorough testing to validate report outputs.
  • Identifying opportunities for business improvement through data analysis. Identifying cost-saving opportunities, revenue enhancement strategies, or process optimization initiatives based on insights derived from data analysis.
  • Maintaining, and monitoring data quality metrics to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Defining data quality standards, conducting data quality assessments, and implementing data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Providing support and guidance to citizen developers in utilizing BI tools effectively. Assisting in understanding data structures, creating simple queries, and developing basic visualizations, empowering business users to independently analyze and derive insights from data.
  • Documenting processes of report creation, including requirements, data sources, methodologies, and outcomes. Organizing and maintaining a centralized repository for storing completed reports, ensuring easy access and retrieval of information.
