We are hiring an Analyst, Business, Loyalty & Consumer Insights
The Business Analytics team at Shoppers Drug Mart is responsible for key analytic support for the flyer and loyalty promotional planning. The team is charged with continuous innovation, delivering value add insights to the business as well as driving incremental sales and margin. We listen to our customers. That’s our job. And we make sure that the feedback we collect is making our programs more customer centric and growing our business.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1-2 years related work or co-op experience in an analytical or business role. Experience ideally in Retail, CPG industry, Consumer Finance, or Telecommunications
  • Ability to synthesize large amount of data into insights
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable collaborating within cross functional team
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Basic knowledge of MS Access, SQL, Python is an asset
  • Post secondary education equivalent to a university degree in business, statistics, economics, engineering or similar

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of loyalty and promo campaigns at Shoppers Drug Mart
  • Work closely with finance to manage loyalty P&L and provide reporting and insights on variances vs forecast and plan
  • Provide thought leadership on loyalty offer strategy. Work directly with various stakeholders to optimize promotional tactics and make recommendations to maximize incremental sales and margin
  • Synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources, including customer transaction data, consumer & syndicated research, market share, and campaign results. Extrapolate and interpret appropriate information to deliver value add recommendations
  • Own real-time consolidated forecast for flyer and loyalty sales and margin
  • Monitor and analyze loyalty and promotional performance relative to forecast, and provide analysis on variance to forecast. Proactively identify new trends.
  • Ad hoc analysis on promotional response and elasticity of categories
  • Deliver weekly reporting on loyalty campaign performance. Responsible for maintaining model to measure incremental sales for all loyalty promotions
  • Support marketing and digital teams on ad-hoc analysis and leverage customer data to deliver meaningful insights to drive business strategy
