POSITION OVERVIEW
This Analyst plays a key technical role in the performance of projects within the Calian Nuclear division, specifically with our Emergency Preparedness team.
The analyst will be supporting a variety technical projects and exercises surrounding nuclear safety and licensing, preparing plans and procedures, planning and presenting large scale exercises and training etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University or college degree in Nuclear related field (IE: engineering, physics etc) or Emergency Management or other related discipline
- Experience working within the Nuclear industry will be considered an asset
- 1-3+ years experience within Emergency Management/Preparedness or Disaster Management role
- Ability to think independently and provide insight and solutions to complex problems;
- Strong communication skills are a must have for this role; the ability to present and/or facilitate to large groups will be required as well as being able to write technical reports and summaries
- Ability to adapt to changing project and client requirements;
- Team player, able to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team;
- Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be eligible for a secret-level government security clearance. A current Government of Canada Secret clearance is an asset;
- Travel requirements are 0-10% based on facilitation and training requirements with different projects
Responsibilities:
- Support technical project work for Calian Nuclear’s clients;
- Support the development of high-quality technical reports and documents;
- Provide support for any and all training exercises and facilitations with clients;
- Assist in the preparation of Nuclear safety and radiation plans and procedures;
- Provide support to Project Managers as required, including reporting to clients, reviewing the work of project team members and subcontractors, and supervising project team members;
- Ensure all project deliverables are developed and maintained in accordance with the Calian Nuclear Quality Management System (QMS); and
- Participate, as part of a project team, in conducting technical analyses
