Job Description
Summary and Scope of Position
This position will pay a key role in the management of the BI Financial Planning and Analysis department. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the coordination of monthly forecasting and client reporting submission into company-wide repository (Hyperion), development and delivery of ad hoc analyses to inform key decisions, and providing support and mentorship for the junior and senior analysts within the FP&A team. This position will assist in training, directing and providing feedback for FP&A team, as well as identifying issues, developing POVs, and offering ideas to their manager and agency finance leadership that can drive results to meet or exceed targets and create efficiencies.
Main Responsibilities

Budget and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasting for upload into the Hyperion Reporting System
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Hyperion reporting schedules and timely delivery to management
  • Maintain personnel activity for accurate salary and headcount forecasting
  • Assist team director with implementation of corporate planning tool (Anaplan)

Client Reporting

  • Assist in preparation of client profitability reporting
  • Perform research for inquiries from agency client finance teams and account leads
  • Reconcile and report actual burn activity against scoped fees
  • Develop fee pricing proposals for existing and new clients as requested by account management

Analysis

  • Prepare variance analysis to identify and explain variances to budget
  • Create reports to support ad-hoc analysis requests from client finance team
  • Reconcile payroll expenses to P&L and maintain headcount roster monthly
  • Possess solid knowledge of general accounting concepts (revenue recognition, expense timing, capitalization policies, etc.)
  • Assist with month end revenue recognition

Other

  • Must have a proven track record of handling confidential information
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Train and mentor staff to ensure continuous professional development and result oriented mindset
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions for direct reports

Qualifications

Approximately 2 years relevant work experience in Corporate FP&A or Client Finance, preferably with an advertising or marketing agency background

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications- specifically Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
  • Ability to supervise direct reports and communicate directly with senior management, with strong communication skills
  • Hyperion Financial Management, SAP, Anaplan, or Concur experience is a plus
