YOUR BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Reporting Analyst within the funds management sector, with a preference for candidates with exposure to private markets
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management presence, capable of effectively liaising between business units, technology teams, and investment data specialists
  • Experience in conducting collaborative co-design workshops to capture unmet needs and explore potential solutions
  • Capturing and documenting business requirements from business users
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks and good data management practices
  • Enterprise architecture exposure
  • Tertiary qualifications in business systems, computer science, data science, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Strong business acumen, with an ability to understand financial metrics and key performance drivers, and to provide actionable insights and trends to business owners
  • Proficient in Power BI for complex dashboards and reports, skilled in ETL with Power Query, integrating Microsoft technologies and data modelling
  • Sufficient SQL skills for complex data querying and manipulation in relational databases
  • Knowledge of data warehousing solutions
  • Knowledge of version control system

Responsibilities:

Accountable directly to the Director, Data Capability for delivery of data analytics, insights and reporting outcomes for the Data Capability team. This role has responsibility to understand investment datasets and data flows across IFM and deliver analytics, insights and reporting outcomes for business teams.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Review and understand the investment data and associated data models across IFM
  • Engage with various business teams to understand their data analysis needs and reporting requirements
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions to capture business needs and translate them into actionable tasks
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights and support business decision-making
  • Build, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Develop external client and regulatory reports
  • Conduct analytics of investment datasets to gain insights & trends to provide to the IFM business teams
  • Proactive engagement with key stakeholders to help to understand business drivers, unmet needs and analyse opportunities to provoke innovation
  • Maintain comprehensive solution documentation, including data sources, methodologies, and report logic
  • Support the development and roll out of an Investment Reporting Framework
  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements to reporting solutions based on feedback
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy and reliability of data presented
