ANALYST, DESKTOP SUPPORT

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst, Systems Network with the Information Technology team. The Finance and Information Technology Division is responsible for all aspects of corporate financial management and reporting, information technology strategies and plans, as well as other organizational service functions including procurement, risk management, internal audit, emergency/contingency planning, and facilities management.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve calls for end-user technical and application support issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of installed software, managing software licensing and creates procedures for updates.
  • Analyze and make recommendation for hardware and software standardizing.
  • Create reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for technical and application improvements.
  • Provide technical support for IT equipment, audio/visual equipment, and remote computer operation.
  • Ensure appropriate patches are deployed and update appropriate related documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate Security systems and processes are in place to protect end user devices, including Antivirus and Encryption.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory through appropriate asset management protocols.
  • Identify and implement system performance enhancements.
  • Test, and implement business application systems and train clients.
  • Provide back-up support to IT staff, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience problem-solving in windows operating systems, end user computing and service management such as incident and problem management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Dynamics, PowerPoint), Teams.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft administrative tools such as Intune, BitLocker, Active Directory.
  • Specialized certifications in Microsoft products is preferred.
