What we are looking for:
The analyst will be an integral part of the Global Data Management team that ensures the accuracy and timeliness of our core investment data. The core focus of this role will be to manage enterprise data in such a way as to drive its accuracy, reliability, scalability, and sustainability, while collaborating with the business and technology team to identify and promote best practices and implementation execution.

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate valuation of assets under management
  • Responsible for data quality and for ensuring high business confidence in the data
  • Collect and ensure receipt of prices from various vendors of public market securities
  • Review and validate daily key quality control reports in support of pricing using various tools and applications
  • Support daily processes by solving for any exceptions/rejections in a timely manner
  • Vetting data comparisons between the accounting system and the order management system to ensure accuracy
  • Complete daily and monthly tasks related to pricing and validation of securities across systems
  • Drive data quality by highlighting process improvement, formulate recommendations to resolve, and work as part of team to re-engineer current workflows
  • Partner with other functional Operational Teams to solve issues and improve processes
  • Learn multiple functions at an accelerated pace and quickly adapt to different roles and management styles
  • Document workflows and procedures as needed

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • High attention to detail, and accuracy, within a high-volume work environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to identify issues or unusual activity
  • Self-motivated with continuous process improvement mindset
  • Team player, results-oriented and passion for excellence
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel a plus
  • Language requirements: If your location is Montreal, fluency in French, both written and spoken, as well as solid proficiency in English, given our presence in offices around the world, is a must. If your location is Toronto, excellent communication skills in English only, spoken and written, are required.

Preferred technical skills to succeed in this role:

  • Strong working knowledge various security types including equities, currency forwards, loans, bonds, interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, synthetic notes, OTC securities, futures, etc.
  • Experience working within an operations team of an investment management firm
  • Knowledge of data entities such as securities, pricing, positions, transactions, indices, performance, and clients
  • Experience with different external data vendors used across the industry such as Bloomberg, IDC, Reuters, Rimes, etc.
