Spire is seeking to fill a Lead Analyst, Technical position. This role will understand and support wide range of shared service and platform applications, with emphasis on end-to-end processes, data flow, and user experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION (CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES)

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field); or foreign equivalent, and one year of relevant analytical experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • Must have gained proficiency with the following skills: demonstrable acumen of the fundamentals of financial analysis and financial concepts, principles, and practices as they relate to evaluating business opportunities and/or the strategy and corporate development processes; discounted cash flows, and other valuation techniques; use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; ability to quickly research and synthesize information from multiple financial sources to identify market trends, forecast industry and economic conditions, analyze capital markets risk, understand strategic implications, and then apply this information to develop and evaluate business opportunities; and ability to effectively manage support work on multiple projects simultaneously and work long hours as required to meet firm deadlines.
  • Employer will accept any suitable combination of academic coursework, unpaid internship or part-time equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Spire strategy and corporate development efforts by assisting business units and emerging businesses in preparing business plans and project analyses, ensuring a consistent analytical framework.
  • Develop/refine valuation models and develop business cases to ensure a consistent analysis of strategic opportunities.
  • Analyze corporate financial data and prepare pro-forma financial statements.
  • Perform state economic research by analyzing GDP and population growth, major industries per state, income per capita, and other economic indicators to assist in identifying, analyzing, and assessing strategic business opportunities and corporate development initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing presentations to support potential investments and other strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in financial analysis to support long-term debt and equity financing activities, credit rating presentations, optimization of cash flow, capital structure, cost-of capital, and regulatory recovery.
