Job Description

The Marketing Analyst will be a critical member of the Canada Marketing team based in Toronto. This position will collaborate closely with Visa Canada teams in support of their business initiatives in partnership with the North America Insights & Analytics team. In this role you will use your passion for insights and skills in data analysis to tell compelling stories, and to advance Visa and clients key strategic initiatives.

In this role you will:

  • Have strong expertise in all aspects of quantitative data analysis, stitching different data sources together to build a holistic point of view, and storytelling using data, serve as marketing analytics SME to Visa Canada teams and Visa’s clients.
  • Build a dynamic learning agenda and experimentation plan for Visa Canada that reflects the business’ needs, evolves with the company’s changing priorities, and ultimately meets and exceeds the objectives set out for the Canada Insights and Analytics function.
  • Partner with various Visa Canada teams (e.g. Marketing Services, product, strategy, sales, and Visa Consulting & Analytics, etc.) to proactively gauge their needs, scope the right studies/programs, and deliver compelling insightful analyses/solutions to meet/exceed their needs.
  • Partner with Canada marketing to integrate behavioral measurement into key initiatives and support profitable consumer behaviors framework.
  • Collaborate with North America and Global Insights & Analytics colleagues in cross-support at the regional and global level and develop and share best practices across the entire company.
  • Have a strong understanding of the payment industry in Canada, including traditional stakeholders and new fintech providers, and use the knowledge to embed analytics in the design and execution of client programs to ensure they are relevant and forward looking.
  • Have strong executive presence, in both ongoing interaction and presentations.
  • Remain current on analytics methods and capabilities, seeking continuous improvement in how we embed analytics in decision making. Develop a network of vendor partners in Canada that offer innovative complimentary capabilities and work with the team to build a first-class insights and analytics function.
  • Be a leader operating according to Visa’s leadership principles in every aspect of your role.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • 2+ years’ experience in data-based decision-making or quantitative analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher in these fields would be a plus.
  • Experience with extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL or other tools
  • Competence in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in understanding and analyzing data using statistical software (e.g., Python, SAS, R, Stata or others)
  • Previous experience in the payment industry, particularly in Canada, including knowledge of traditional clients (banks, merchants) and new fintech providers is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and can clearly communicate and articulate complex topics with partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including marketing and data science teams.
