Description:

Join our global Environmental and Social Risk team based in Sydney and play a key role in providing guidance on the management of material environmental and social risks. Our team is responsible for providing advice on environmental and social risks in transactions, developing and implementing group wide policies and guidance on ESR matters and providing input to Macquarie’s ESG disclosures.

What role you will play?
You will support the ESR review, technical analysis and monitoring of Macquarie’s transactions and clients, and work with Macquarie’s business groups to review new products and transactions under the ESR policy. You will play a role in the implementation of ESR policies, systems and projects and prepare programme materials, presentations, data analysis, training and communications on ESR topics and projects. Finally, you will provide support to internal working groups and monitor sector and ESR topic trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What you offer

  • Experience in environmental social risk, ESG or sustainability, ideally gained in a financial institution, professional services firm or government
  • Relevant qualification in an appropriate discipline such as, environmental science, sustainability or business
  • Ability to undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders and build strong working relationships.

About the Risk Management Group
In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Prudential Risk, and Risk Management Group Central.
