KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent communication skills, including industrial report writing.
A degree in a relevant discipline (Geology, Earth Science, Mining).
Solid numeric and data analysis capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office products.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Ability to accomplish self-directed and collaborative tasks
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience as a mining analyst or similar role.
Experience in cost modeling and DCF calculations.
Experience with SQL, Python or other large database programs.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Grade Level (for internal use): 11
The Team: The Mine Economics team is the leading authority mine supply, cost and DCF information. Using proprietary models, we track cost trends at thousands of mines around the world. We are rapidly expanding to increase the scope of our cost curves and add coverage around greenhouse gases and looking an Analyst/Senior Analyst for our Mine Economics team.
The Impact : As an analyst on our team, you work alongside your peers to gather, curate and analyze information on mining company and asset performance in support of the existing Mine Economics product and aid in the roll-out of greenhouse gas coverage. This research provides clients with strategic tools for assessing the health of the global mining industry, reacting to emerging trends, capitalizing on business development opportunities and benchmarking their activities against their peers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and update mine models using our proprietary modeling method.
Aid in the creation of a new product focused around greenhouse gases.
Interact with clients and industry leaders in webinars, meetings and industry conferences.
Collaborate on articles and publications with peers on the research team and in the larger S&P organization.
