Qualifications

  • Graduate in finance, banking, economics or related discipline with postgraduate qualifications strongly desired.
  • A minimum of 5 or more years of relevant analytical experience preferably with a financial institution, predominantly in a credit role. Knowledge of securitisation is preferred but experience in asset finance, project finance or other related fields will be strongly considered.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude.
  • Previous experience writing research would be advantageous.
  • Articulate and succinct communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Mature and balanced personality with ability to manage high level and often complex client relationships.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, learning environment

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We seek an energetic and team-oriented structured finance analyst, located in Moody’s Sydney office. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit analysis of Australian and New Zealand securitisation deals. You will also work on wide-ranging research projects and pursue thought leadership initiatives to enhance our internal analytics and external impact.
The role requires frequent interaction with investors, intermediaries, and issuers, including at senior levels. It will include outreach initiatives both in Australia and on a broader regional basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Analytics

  • Credit analysis of a variety of residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities (RMBS/ABS);
  • Credit risk modeling, including cash flow and simulation models;
  • Legal document review;
  • Monitoring of macro-economic and industry conditions and trends;
  • Writing accurate, insightful and relevant credit research;
  • Representing Moody’s at external outreach events, such as seminars, conferences and one-on-one meetings.
  • Active contribution to fostering a culture of excellence at Moody’s.

Research & Outreach

  • Author compelling sector-related research, including pre-sale reports, sector comments and sector outlooks; ability to balance research and outreach responsibilities with daily transaction activity.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with senior securitisation investors and intermediaries, and the press/media.
  • Participate in presentations at conferences, attend industry events, and key stakeholder meetings to help raise the visibility and leadership of Moody’s franchise throughout the region.

Leadership

  • Participate in key strategic projects to support team effectiveness and success in the region.
  • Ability to form constructive working relationships with diverse staff located throughout region.
