WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Lab Technician / Analytical Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting sample preparation, analysis, data evaluation and interpretation of results in our Analytical Laboratory. This individual will primarily work with Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Diode Array Detection (HPLC-DAD) and other instrumental analysis techniques.

You would be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Perform sample preparation and analysis using GC/MS, HPLC-DAD, and other analytical instruments
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments as well as the analytical laboratory; this may include also the associated hard- and software
  • Execute analytical methods accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines and requirements
  • Evaluate and interpret analytical data, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards
  • Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) to support product development and innovation initiatives
  • Collaboration with the Sensory Team to integrate analytical and sensory data for a comprehensive understanding of product quality and consumer preferences
  • Document all analytical procedures, results, and observations in accordance with laboratory protocols and industry best practices
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes, workflows, and efficiency as well as portfolio optimization and consolidation projects
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment in the laboratory
  • Knowledge of proper storage, labeling, and disposal procedures for hazardous goods to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate risks to personnel and the environment
  • Proficient in regularly reviewing and updating the register of hazardous substances to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Advanced laboratory specialist degree in (analytical) chemistry or chemical laboratory technician with focus on food analytics, flavours, additives, 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on instrumental analytics (preferably in food industry)
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting GC/MS and HPLC-DAD systems is required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets precisely
  • Familiarity with sample preparation techniques and analytical method development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to compose and comprehend technical documentation, reports, emails, and other business correspondence in English
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Advanced knowledge of the legal requirements for food and beverages in the European Union
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
  • Strong IT affinity and knowledge are an advantage (e.g., databases, MS SharePoint, SAP)
