What to expect

  • Design, develop, and maintain analytical data systems
  • Assume responsibility for debugging and troubleshooting data system issues
  • Lead, review, and consult with other departments and teams utilizing data systems
  • Create and maintain documentation for data systems
  • Architect and develop data systems to ensure scalability as well as cost efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data system performance
  • Engineer tools and scripts to automate, run, and support the data systems
  • Prioritize collaboration and efficient communication
  • Embrace an independent working style and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Adhere to existing standards and best practices for securely storing and using data while contributing to their improvement

Inspire us by

  • Your Background: Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytical data development.
  • Your Passion: A strong interest in data development and the foundational concepts underlying it.
  • Your Experience Includes:
  • Working with the foundations of data warehouse/ data lakes
  • Administration and development for BigQuery or a comparable cloud system (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks) or analytical systems (e.g. Exasol, Hadoop, Clickhouse, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL, preferably experience with dbt (comparable systems are acceptable, e.g., sqlmesh, SDF, etc.).
  • Integration of data sources, preferably with Airbyte (comparable systems are acceptable, e.g., Fivetran, etc.).
  • Data flow orchestration, preferably with dagster (comparable systems are acceptable, e.g., Airflow, prefect, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Python (optionally Java or Scala).
  • Event streaming experience, preferably with Kafka (alternatively, Flink, Pulsar, Redpanda, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Minimum proficiency with one dashboarding solution (e.g., Metabase, PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Experience using services on top of data systems (e.g., GraphQL, Rest APIs, etc.)
  • Your Work Ethic: Working independently and having solution-oriented thinking are among your strengths, as well as analyzing and preparing data.
  • Your Performance: Ambitious to actively contribute to the development and success of the company and thrive in an agile environment.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Willingness to improve code and engineering practices continuously.
  • Your Language Skills: Strong written and spoken English skills (level C1 on the CEFR scale).
