Position Title: Anatomical Pathology Registrar

Salary: $112,917 - $141,084 (Plus 11.5% Super)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Relevant Australian MBBS Medical Degree and registered with AHPRA qualifications and a minimum of postgraduate year three including 2 years of residence training.
- Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities, involvement in research, and teaching of junior medical staff and/or medical students
- CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.

DUTIES
Under limited direction of the Anatomical Pathology Clinical Director, you will perform surgical cut up as per the Department protocols and as per instructions from the consultants. You will:
1. Perform surgical cut up as per the Department protocols and as per instructions from the consultants. Ensure that the specimen cut up descriptions are accurately transcribed. Report on surgical pathology specimens under supervision by Pathologists.
2. Provide teaching to Clinical Registrars at Canberra Hospital, laboratory staff and medical students and actively participate in the teaching sessions organised by the consultants for Registrar teaching.
3. Attend intraoperative frozen section examinations.
4. Participate in collection of Fine Needle Aspiration specimens in Medical Imaging Department, from inpatients at Canberra Hospital and outpatients in ACT Pathology.
5. Perform autopsies on Hospital cases at Canberra Hospital.
6. Attend and present at Departmental Quality Assurance meetings and other Clinicopathological meetings as directed.
7. Interest in Medical research.
8. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
