Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Anticoagulant Service for a registered nurse to join the team.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic RN to join the existing team of registered nurses to support provide support to patients referred to the Anticoagulation Nursing team. Some experience would be beneficial but training will be provided.
The Anticoagulation nursing team provide services at Royal Gwent, Ystrad and Nevill Hall sites but the base will be Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport
To be aware of and demonstrate practice based upon current advances in anticoagulation nursing.
To provide expert clinical advice to patients, relatives, carers and other health care professionals.
To monitor the anticoagulation needs of patients within the INR / anticoagulation system.
To be competent and proficient with obtaining Venous blood samples.
To ensure the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness.
To demonstrate competence in the adjustment of dosing regimens for anticoagulation within agreed Health Board and International Guidelines.
To assist the line manager to continually develop the service to support the needs of the community i.e Hub Clinics.
To instigate investigations for DVT and advise upon current treatment regimens.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
