Why this role matters
Townsville Recovery Services (TRS) seeks to bring hope, healing and wholeness to all people adversely affected by alcohol, other drugs and gambling by providing a range of services and support to addicts, families and significant others whose lives have been affected by addiction.
Our centres are abstinence based, drug-free environments and our programmes provide a holistic treatment service that will help achieve physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive AOD Team Leader to provide leadership and complex case management activities while overseeing the work of case workers at Townsville Recovery Services.

You will successfully

  • Oversee all aspects of Townsville Recovery Services(TRS) service delivery, including assessment, referral, admission, case management, group work and case load allocation.
  • Monitor the performance of and provide support to therapeutic staff to deliver quality, efficient and effective services.
  • In consultation with management identify and implement service delivery improvements.
  • Assist with the development of policy and procedure.
  • Support management and other staff in accreditation and quality assurance processes.

You will have

  • Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Social Work or similar discipline and/or extensive relevant experience.
  • The relevant state Working with Children Check.
  • QLD Driver Licence.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the drug and alcohol service provision.
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to develop and tailor programs to meet clients’ needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviour, violence and problems associated with substance abuse and psychiatric conditions.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to network, consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external clients and services.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Rowes Bay, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 6.
