JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Materials and Structural Analysis business helps customers drive ground breaking research and discoveries by delivering innovative microscopy, spectroscopy, and microanalysis solutions, such as world-class scanning and transmission electron microscopes, DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with advanced software suites. We span across the business areas of spectroscopy, visualization software, semiconductor, life sciences, and material sciences, as well as global support functions like commercial sales, service, operations, research and development, advanced technologies, finance and marketing.
How will you make an impact?
As an Accountant within our Finance function, you will support the success of the business by championing compliance with internal controls and legal/statutory requirements while delivering on required results timely.
The successful candidate’s geographical scope would include both Singapore and Malaysia.

Scope includes but are not limited to:-

  • Verify and process staff claims - twice a month
  • Bank/cash book related activities -capture all payments and receipts in the accounting system
  • Check and process withholding tax on payments
  • Lead monthly payment cycle by ensuring that suppliers are paid promptly and timely
  • Ensure that all supplier’s invoices are approved, according to the Approval Authority Matrix (AAM) and matched against purchase orders if any, before payments
  • Booking of all approved vendor invoices into accounting system
  • Own and manage intercompany payables and receivables including reconciliation and liaising with counterparties on discrepancies and variances to resolve it on a timely basis
  • Perform month end closing activities
  • Process banker’s guarantee applications
  • Currency Forecast
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external auditors, assists in walkthroughs and resolving queries
  • Assist in GST returns for quarterly filing
  • Other ad hoc duties.

Minimum requirements/qualifications:-

  • Diploma in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a MNC
  • Great communication skills
  • Must be meticulous and able to work independently and contribute as a great teammate
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual in both English and Malay
  • Knowledge of QAD is advantageous but not vital
