REQUIREMENTS
- A lawyer (4+ Years post qualification) with prior experience advising on APAC cross-border issues
- Commercial contracts and privacy expertise, preferably gained in a technology or data-centric business in the APAC region
- A lawyer with a private practice background moving in-house
- Ability to spot key risks, analyse and assess risk, and provide actionable recommendations
- Work autonomously and collaboratively, excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
You will act as a legal counsel covering GBG’s APAC region, providing advice on commercial contracts, new partners, products, services & jurisdictions, reporting into our APAC Principal Legal Counsel
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Negotiating high-value, complex, and often multi-jurisdictional contracts with GBG’s APAC customers, partners, and suppliers
- Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice on contractual matters, general corporate matters, new products, services, technology, and entry into new APAC markets
- Building deep business partnering relationships with a broad group of GBG team members in multiple countries
- Working collaboratively with your Global Privacy, Legal, Risk, and Regulation team members to ensure that your legal advice appropriately reflects regulatory requirements and GBG’s risk appetite
- Monitoring and tracking new legal and regulatory risks in the APAC region
- Seeking advice from external counsel (if necessary)
