Position Description
JOB/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Senior Director for the Student Learning Center (SLC), Cross Cultural Leadership Center (CCLC) and Student Transition and Retention (STAR) Center, and Affinity Centers, the Program Coordinator will serve as a member of the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Center/CCLC staff, providing direction and advisement in educational and cultural programming for AANHPI student population. The incumbent will be relied upon to provide insight, leadership, direction, and coordination to areas of responsibility. The AANHPI Center and CCLC provide a collaborative space to enhance academic and social integration for historically under-served student populations (i.e. Underrepresented Racial Minorities, First Gen, Pell-Eligible). This position requires significant administrative planning to develop creative solutions that integrate approaches across division and organizational lines. Incumbent is also responsible for recognizing specific program needs and for collaborating with student affairs and academic departments to improve and develop approaches for implementation for student engagement and success.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.
