Description:

  • 7+ years in enterprise technology sales, GTM or business development roles

    AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
    As the APJ Industry GTM Lead, you will be accountable for shaping the industry vision, operating model and blueprint across the APJ region. You will be responsible for amplifying Amazon’s industry efforts by working cross-functionally with teams like Area Industry Sales Leaders, World-wide AWS Industries, the World-wide Specialist Organisation, and the Partner organsiation. With your understanding of the AWS, industry and customer landscape, you will shape the industry strategy and be responsible for driving the execution and operational excellence of industry-specific initiatives across the APJ region. With your cross-functional counterparts you will align industry-focused sellers, events, and messaging, while tracking and reporting on key performance metrics.
    Corporate priorities are changing simultaneously to balance macro-economic uncertainty through discretionary spending controls, while concurrently investing in digital transformation initiatives that enable agile, flexible and sustainable business operations with personalized user experiences. Our customers are leveraging cloud services to achieve industry-focused outcomes supported by value driven business cases, sponsored by Line of Business (LOB) leaders, C-Suite, and Corporate Boards. This shift is driving customers to do more with less, prioritizing profitability and top-line growth through differentiation and innovation that reduces the customer’s time to value. As new technologies continue to emerge, we are presented with an opportunity to support our customers as strategic advisors, helping them stay ahead of the curve, capitalize on changing market trends, and reinvest in new workloads.

Key job responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining APJ’s Telecommunication industry GTM strategy across all customer segments/motions.
  • Articulate a cross functional, #oneAWS Value Proposition for our industry approach
  • Define and enforce a consistent engagement model across the multiple parts of our industry GTM approach
  • Document and align the scope of responsibilities from AWSI, STO and cross functional teams
  • Set the measures and incentives to support our Industry GTM approach
  • Co-ordinate the necessary operational planning and reporting cadences (mechanisms) for the inspection of our APJ AGS business
  • Develop a deep understanding of Telecommunication customer needs, challenges, and compliance regulation. Analyze industry trends and competitive dynamics to identify new service opportunities
  • Establish AWS industry communities to share best practices and drive thought leadership
  • Evangelize Amazon’s differentiation and value proposition within your industry
  • Track and report on adoption of industry solutions and strategies across the APJ region

About the team
This APJ Industry GTM Team exist to amplify our current industry efforts across functional teams (e.g. Area field teams, AWSI, WWSO, Partner, Marketing etc.). Aligned to our key industries we will work backwards from industry-specific customer needs with a purpose to drive cross functional stakeholder accountability so we accelerate industry solution adoption, while scaling a consistent experience for our customers and our field.
