As an App-V System Engineer, your role involves overseeing and maintaining the App-V environment in the organizational IT infrastructure, requiring expertise in Virtualization technologies, especially Microsoft’s App-V platform, and strong IT system engineering skills.
Key responsibilities
Application Packaging: Develop, customize, and package applications using the Microsoft App-V sequencing process.
Deployment Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to determine deployment strategies for virtualized applications.
Testing and QA: Conduct thorough testing of virtualized applications to ensure functionality and compatibility.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of application packaging processes and deployment procedures.
Integration and Automation: Integrate App-V with existing IT systems and implement automation scripts.
Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect virtualized applications and ensure compliance.
Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of virtualized applications and address bottlenecks.
Incident Management: Provide technical support for App-V packaged applications and resolve issues promptly.
Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilization in the App-V environment and plan for future capacity needs.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose enhancements to the App-V environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Extensive experience with application packaging and Virtualization technologies, especially Microsoft App-V.
Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell.
Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and IT infrastructure.
Familiarity with software deployment tools and ITIL processes.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proactive with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT solutions efficiently.
