Description:
The Directorate of Student Experience is looking for a passionate and highly skilled Appeals, Complaints, and Discipline Officer to join our Teaching and Learning Delivery team. This centrally located team oversees academic appeals, student complaints, and some disciplinary outcomes across the University. It is also the University’s point of liaison with the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIAHE).
You will be jointly responsible for the efficient and effective organisation of and arrangements for the internal review stage of student appeals and complaints, and the disciplinary appeal stage. You will manage a varied caseload and will be an exceptional team player with a ready ability to work proactively and collaboratively with your colleagues. You will be able to appropriately analyse and respond to complex casework in alignment with the University’s Regulations and in plain language.
You will be joining a dedicated, motivated, and supportive team with a culture of excellent service provision, innovation, and continuous improvement, and will work closely alongside the Teaching and Learning Manager (Appeals, Complaints, and Discipline).
We expect applicants to have significant experience in a similar role, which may have been gained in Higher Education or a related field. We also expect applicants to seek to engage in continued professional development, and to maintain an ongoing awareness of issues impacting this area of work across the sector.
Colleagues will be expected to work flexibly across the University and to take on assignments and roles as required across the organisation, using key principles of business partnering and collaborative working to ensure delivery of University and local priorities, operating at all times as a single cross University team.
