Description:

Niagara Health is entering a time of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future to focus on digital health technologies that scale far beyond the traditional walls of the hospital. With a vision for supporting an efficient patient experience and a consistent approach to clinical best practices, Niagara Health is preparing to implement a modern Hospital Information System (HIS) in 2024.
As a valued member of the Project Monarch team, the HIS Application Analyst is a highly motivated and experienced individual, who will be accountable to their assigned application area. Using their expertise they will serve as a connection between end users’ clinical needs and the larger application team to ensure the clinical and/or functional needs of their application area are met.
There are a number of positions available working in the following design & build workstreams however they may be reassigned across the project as the needs change.

o Listens attentively to ensure that the intended message has been accurately received, holding responses until the person has finished making his/her point, and repeating information to ensure accuracy
o Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem’s cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence
o Able to gain trust and establish effective relationships with vendor counterparts and stakeholders
o Perseveres in difficult situations, overcomes obstacles, and reaches high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Undergraduate degree or college diploma specializing in business, project management or a health related field required; Graduate degree considered an asset
o Experience in health care/public sector would be an asset
o Ability to solve complex organizational, operational, project and people problems with positive outcomes
o 3-5 years working on transformational, complex change initiatives in a large enterprise environment an asset
o Experience working with project management/a project management office
o Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project and Sharepoint considered an asset
o Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload with changing priorities and challenging deadlines

Responsibilities:

o Guide workflow design and build, test the system, and analyze technical issues associated with the applicable software
o Identify issues that arise in your assigned application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them
o Work as part of a team, assisting other team members with tasks as needed to keep deliverables on schedule
o Perform quality checks on your own work, and collaborate with colleagues on your team for peer-to-peer quality reviews as need
o Work with vendor representatives, NHS ‘s community and end users to ensure the system meets NHS’s needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
o Identify and implement requested changes to the system
o Maintain regular communication with vendor representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings, discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end?user concerns, and upcoming milestones
o Develop an understanding of NHS’s operational needs to set the direction for workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions
o Participate in readiness, training, and go live activities and work with end users
o Collaborate with technical colleagues to support device deployment and technical dress rehearsal from an application perspective
o Troubleshoot problems and questions
o Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis
o Works in alignment with the HIS PCO to ensure that change management tasks and deliverables are met and adoption targets achieved.
