Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure & Strategic Projects (NESP) is a functional unit of Nikkiso CE&IG that develops and executes turnkey EPC projects (> US$10 MM) globally. NESP designs, integrates, and fabricates complete energy infrastructure projects and cryogenic plants.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Application Engineer, CO2 Plants role will be responsible for generating technical proposals and managing the in-house sales support for the growing CO2 market in North America, based in the Irvine, CA area. This role requires a strong technical background to develop tailor made solutions by using NCEIG standard plants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical/Chemical Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years in application or sales engineering, preferably in a plant manufacturing environment.
• Experience in CO2, natural gas and industrial gas industry is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate technical and commercial proposals to customers company’s products and engineering solutions focusing on the CO2 application.
• Review customer’s requests for proposals and project specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to process design, equipment selection, sizing, costing, and schedule.
• Engage with customers to provide project timeline and timely project submittals. Providing accurate information regarding products, delivery schedule, services, and pricing.
• Provide commercial and technical support to customers and sales team in a timely manner.
• Correctly apply applicable industry standards.
• Maintain quotation log and develop follow-up procedures to determine job status.
• Perform job duties, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with company values and internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost).
• Customer follow-up upon award of contract, summarization of contract, supply list of comments and exceptions and latest proposal, and to work with the contract administrator to open the sales order.
• Product development support consisting of conceptual design development based on market feedback, as well as data collection, follow up, design modifications and engineering solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to discuss highly technical details of equipment with engineering, customers, and contract administration during negotiation process.
• Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, maturity, customer service focus and overall good judgment.
• Performs other duties as assigned in relation to this role.
