Description:

My client, a Financial Services exchange company, is looking for an Application Security Engineer/Architect to join their growing team in London. For this role you will need to be in their offices in London (near Liverpool Street Station) 3 days per week

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Highly desirable to have University degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent experience and professional security qualifications such as CEH, CCNP, CISSP, GIAC (GSEC/GCIH/GCIA).

  • Experience of the following areas or technologies:
  • Scripting and automation tools, Python, PowerShell, or equivalent
  • Agile ways of working, tools and techniques (e.g. Jira, Confluence, stories, sprints, backlogs)
  • Encryption and authentication technologies (e.g. Certificates, TLS, Kerberos)
  • Build and deployment pipeline technologies, such as Atlassian stack and Ansible or equivalent
  • Secrets management and privileged access management
  • Source code and artefact repositories
  • Restful API, network and configuration protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, JSON, YAML)
  • Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • An understanding of the following areas would be of benefit
  • SIEM integration
  • SAST/DAST/IAST/SCA security assurance tooling
  • Application security principles
  • Secure coding practices, ethical hacking and threat modeling
  • Identity and access management
  • Firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies
  • Cloud deployment, operation and security (AWS or Azure)
  • Container runtime technologies and container orchestration platforms
  • Penetration and vulnerability testing tools and techniques
  • MySQL/MSSQL database platforms
  • Secure network architectures and technologies

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE APPLICATION SECURITY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT ROLE:

The Security Engineer/Architect will provide security engineering services. Working closely with peers within the Information Security function and stakeholders across the wider group they will engineer modern, effective and maintainable cyber security solutions. A strong focus on automation and deep cyber security knowledge will help ensure the service provided by the team meets business requirements for Critical National Financial Market Infrastructure, ensuring my client protects data and maintains operational resilience within the evolving threat environment for a global exchange.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform day to day activities of the Security Engineering team ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Implement and manage a set of security engineering services and processes that support my client’s business and technical requirements;
  • Manage security change requests and tickets in line with my client’s Change management process across all environments as appropriate.
  • Support DR & BCP activities;
  • Use case development and on boarding for Security Incident and Event Monitoring;
  • Manage security tools and technology platforms, working with stakeholders to manage lifecycle and operating costs;
  • Development and management of processes, procedures and standard and other technical documentation;
  • Ensure that the Security Engineering function are able to evidence relevant audit, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Production incidents handling for security products (such as troubleshooting, hardware parts replacement, software bug fixes, vendor support engagement).
