APPLICATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
Manchester
We are looking for a bright, professional, and enthusiastic individual with experience of working in an office environment; the candidate must have excellent communication skills, able to work well with a team and can also manage their own workload and time management.
The Application Systems Specialist will report to the Business System Manager in our IT department. The successful candidate will provide additional support relief for our in-house Business Systems team, covering 2nd and 3rd line Application Support tickets and supporting our SQL developer with ad-hoc SQL Reporting Support. The candidate may need to liaise with our supporting partners such as point of system provider, payment processor and other partners as identified for existing and new deployments. The role will allow the candidate to be involved in larger projects to promote further change within the business.
The ideal candidate must have a passion to learn and develop their skills further. A working knowledge of SQL and the drive to support our business system team member’s workload. A bridge builder to foster strong communication pathways with our partners and internal system champions. Exposure to Business Systems (ERP) and financial programs would be beneficial to move this role forward.
Responsibilities:
- As part of the Business Support Team
- Business System support – monitor tickets of the business system support team member to support SLAs Testing – Support in testing new launches of all business systems to provide an additional layer of quality assurance to our deployments.
- Training – Support in creation of training documentation and participate in training videos.
- Support the Business System Manager in project management and scoping of new projects.
- As needed SQL Support – support basic requests such as quests, checking scheduled jobs and support on deployed SQL projects
- Communication – Build strong relationships with the team champions to strengthen the shared passion for continuous improvement.
- Scheduled meetings to review system’s pain points
- Surveys to gather feedback after launches
- Building and sharing a project score card
- Hybrid role – the employee is expected to be in the office in Manchester UK at least 2 days a week. This is not a full remote role, and the role will not support relocations.
