Description:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge in applications/software development in a business environment.
  • A keen interest in computer systems technology and the ambition to increase your skill and knowledge base.
  • A strong knowledge of servers, networking, storage and render systems for trouble shooting purposes.
  • Ability to administer Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMWare, Microsoft Office including installation and configuration.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work with precision and efficiency in tight deadlines.
  • Spoken languages: French & English.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLSET:

  • College degree in Computer Science or any other combination of pertinent training and experience.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Information Technology.
  • Proficiency with programming languages
  • Ability to prioritize workload and respond quickly to important issues and problems.
  • Willing to take on new tasks & challenges and collaborate with other managers and employees.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Change Management in a SOX environment a plus.
  • Experience in medium-scale manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Power BI.
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive PLP’s software and application development
  • Leverage and drive the use of applications within the business to drive digital transformation.
  • Improve the use of our ERP system.
  • Perform, manage and ensure best practices are used for IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure and use best practices to secure all company data.
    Reports to: Finance Director
    Primary work location: Lachine, QC
    Travel requirement: travel to Cambridge, Ontario every 1-2 months.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive use of applications to support digital transformation.
  • Create, design, test new software or modifying existing software to meet business objectives and user needs.
  • Participate in the elaboration of proofs-of-concept for new application and/or software.
  • Lead improvement projects or IT requests related to our ERP.
  • In collaboration with the R&D team, support IT needs related to the development of new IoT products.
  • Plan, execute and support in business infrastructure systems maintenance.
  • Provide desktop support for company employees.
  • Lead the IT team with set up and improvement projects.
  • Provide stable systems that perform well.
  • Interface with auditors for SOX ITGC controls.
  • Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Help create and/or validate procedures and documentations relative to your responsibility.
  • Manage file accesses on the File Server, SharePoint.
