The business is currently looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Newport.
This position provides you with the opportunity to work with a leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotives and transportation.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the process development of new applications and production parts. This will involve working closely with customers and the sales team, from enquiry stage through to production and delivery of components.
  • Develop knowledge of robotic programming and coating through shop floor experience and training.
  • Develop production routes for new parts, make process improvements on existing applications and identify problems that may arise.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of work are documented i.e. drawings, process routes, tooling information.
  • Produce process documentation as it develops, to ensure that process instructions are clear, accurate and updated.
  • You will become competent in the key aspects of the coating technician and production assistant’s role i.e. select & monitor process parameters, setting up jobs/equipment, loading and unloading of parts, preparing appropriate tooling & masking degreasing, masking techniques and surface activation.
  • Develop an in-depth process knowledge that will enable you to troubleshoot process problems. (This is likely to involve visiting customers to hold technical discussions and provide technical services on existing and new applications)
