What We Need
We are looking for an Applications Lead who will play a critical part in engineering top-notch products and services in a unique industry and at a rapidly growing organization.

As the Applications Lead, you will be responsible for end to end operational and project responsibilities of the applications assigned to you which includes but is not limited to high level and low level estimates for Projects and/or PEERs (production enhancement & efficiency requests), design of Projects/PEER solutions. You will lead and have oversight on quality delivery of enhancement work completed by outsource providers. You will coordinate production releases with the team and the business and will be the application owner for a signification portion of the application portfolio. You will own day-to-day incident management, request management, and performance & availability of applications. You will complete root cause analysis (RCA) of incidences for applications and will complete problem tasks resulting from RCAs for applications.

A Day in the Life

  • Translate business requirements into organized, documented functional requirements for reference by development teams. This includes use of requirement templates, process maps, data/process flows, data mapping
  • Elicit business requirements from business product teams using collaboration techniques (e.g. process flows) for the purpose of identifying or defining functional system requirements
  • Point person for systems issue resolution
  • Acquire an understanding of critical program systems and processes
  • Hands on Coding and guide other as required.
  • Hands on testing and assist with testing as required.
  • Code and testing reviews for PEERs and your extended outsource vendors
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or associated field required
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience
  • Hand on proficiency in a Mainframe environment - Strong Knowledge of – COBOL, JCL, SORT/ICETOOL, VSAM, CICS. Hands on experience in REX,IDEAL & DATACOMM preferred
  • Understanding of software development life cycle Agile/Scrum, waterfall, ITIL etc.
  • Service Now, JIRA and Confluence knowledge/experience is highly desired
  • Working understanding of cloud technologies and web-based systems with a strong interest to pursue advancements in the same
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
