ESSENTIAL CRITERIA & QUALIFICATIONS

• Hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or another related discipline, desirably with experience of technology in an industrial setting.
• Experience performing quantitative analysis of gas in liquids using GC/GC-MS.
• Demonstrable experience of critical analysis and problem-solving using GC/GC-MS.
• Experience with maintenance of a GC/GC-MS or other complex laboratory equipment.
• The ability to research standards and report on findings.

The Applied Sciences group at Camlin specialise in Spectroscopy (gas sensing) and Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA). As a vital member of the Applied Sciences team, the Applied Chemist/Chemical Engineer’s primary responsibility will revolve around supporting and developing our Totus (DGA) range of products, focusing mainly on non-mineral oil types e.g. natural and synthetic esters. This will involve designing and performing complex lab experiments, in-depth data analysis, and exploring alternative techniques and innovative technologies for optimising product performance. It is therefore vital that applicants have innate curiosity, a strong technical acumen, and excellent problem-solving skills. Your day-to-day job will also include running our Gas Chromatograph (GC) laboratory, including calibration, method development, governance of processes and relevant standards, as well as troubleshooting and maintenance.
