THE OPPORTUNITY
Boeing Research & Technology - Australia (BR&T-A) supports the future growth and profitability of Boeing Australia’s businesses and the broader Boeing enterprise. This advanced research and development arm creates future aerospace solutions while improving the cycle time, cost, quality and performance of current systems.
BR&T is looking for an Applied Mathematician (Computational Mechanics)to join the team. The role will be working within a computational mathematics research & development group based in Australia working globally to develop and optimise multi-physics solvers for the next generation of aerospace engineering tools.
This role is based onsite at The University of Queensland, St Lucia.
As an Applied Mathematician within Boeing Research & Technology - Australia, you will
- Be part of a team who develops and implements advanced numerical models for solving partial differential equations
- Contribute to fundamental tools which is used by Boeing globally to improve product design
- Foster the next generation of talented mathematicians and engineers through university collaborations
Responsibilities:
- PhD in applied mathematics (or equivalent) and 5+ years experience with C, C++, or FORTRAN code development
- Familiarity with computational methods for solving partial differential equations is required
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics, computational solid mechanics, computational electromagnetics and/or parallel computing frameworks is considered an advantage
