Description:
Job Summary
As a valued member of our team, you will be able to continue to develop your trade knowledge and add to your skillset by working in the modular construction industry. The role will be based in Seaford as well as onsite. Reporting directly to the Leading Hand Carpenters, you’ll be responsible for executing various construction tasks like setting out, construct wall frames, ceiling frames, pitched roofs, eaves, flooring systems, install windows and doors, external cladding and internal fit-out.
Role Description
Duties include:
- Assisting in the construction of standing frames and roof trusses.
- Precise measurement, cutting, and assembly of materials based on architectural plans.
- Installing various cladding materials (weatherboards or metal) on exterior walls.
- Building and maintaining decks for outdoor spaces.
- Fitting and hanging doors, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Safely operating tools and equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining the safety of work sites and equipment.
- Collaborating with the team to complete projects efficiently.
Required Skills
Requirements: To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Physical Fitness: The work involves heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, so physical fitness is essential.
- Availability: You will work Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays.
- White Card: Must hold a valid White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Driver’s License: Possess a driver’s license and reliable transportation (own vehicle).
- Desire to Learn: You’ll learn from a skilled carpenter with over 20 years of experience.
- Strong work ethic & reliable: Being on time and turning up to work is how our teams operate. A can do, get it done attitude is a must.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment: Some of our projects are outdoors, ability to work in the elements is a must.
- Be able to listen, work both independently and in small teams
- Have a positive, willing and can-do attitude is an absolute must
- Ready for an immediate start
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Permanent working rights in Australia
