Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship - School of Biological Sciences
The School of Biological Sciences technical team is looking to recruit a team player to assist with support of the school infrastructure, equipment and facilities. The team is adaptable, proactive and hardworking and the ideal candidate should have a good range of skills that will complement the team work ethic.
The apprenticeship will consist of a combination of learning on the job alongside fellow team members, together with off the job training/study with our training provider Fareham College. On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will become a qualified Laboratory Technician with a permanent role.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, pay will be the lowest spine point of Level 2b, which is Spine Point 17, £25,742 full-time equivalent.

In year one of the apprenticeship, pay will be 60 per cent of this lowest spine point value, £25,742, before increasing to 70 per cent in year two and to 80 per cent in year three.

  • NB - Notwithstanding the provisions set out above, all apprentices will receive a salary which equates to at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for their age, where this exceeds those contractual provisions.
