• Schedule: 7am -5pm Monday through Friday, rotating weekend coverage
• Call Schedule: Rotating first call for nights during week with other APPs
• Practice Detail: Joining our group of GI Hospitalists with Ascension Medical Group
• EMR System: Cerner/ One chart
• Facility: Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham

• What You Will Do:
  Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham is looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our GI Hospitalist Group.
  This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent’s to provide medical services to patients.

EDUCATION:

• Master’s degree of Nursing required.

• Full time hours weekly to support the Physicians as needed
• Handles all Consults, ER Consults during the day and works closely with GI hospitalist to provide medical care.
• Covers nighttime call as first call.
• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
