    Health Approvals and Payments, RAP and Transport Section is responsible for facilitating and coordinating access to high quality healthcare and services for veterans and their dependents, ensuring clients receive the support they require. Connecting our clients with the people and services they need to support their wellness journey.
    Health Approvals and Payments, RAP & Transport (HART) Section

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a first point of contact for clients and providers in regards to HART programs, services and/or payments.
  • Oversee adherence to workforce management planning and schedules.
  • Oversee the use of the various systems available to Client Service Officers, such as the transport booking, prior approval, invoicing and claims processing systems.
  • Provide advice on moderately complex enquiries and claims from clients or their representatives and provide information and advice as a representative of the work area.
  • Provide support and on the job training and coaching where necessary to enable the APS 3 staff to be effective in their job roles.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of procedural manuals and training materials.
  • Contribute to and participate in an ongoing process of continuous improvement which includes reviewing systems, processes and workflows.
  • Foster positive relationships and negotiate with clients and providers in more complex matters.
  • Resolve escalated client and provider issues and refer these to appropriate service channels when necessary.
  • Provide specific program, service or policy information to clients and providers.
  • Gather, analyse and record client and provider feedback.
  • Prepare correspondence including emails and letters on routine and more complex matters.
  • Authorise payments and reimbursements.
  • Undertake requests for review of reimbursements.
  • Provide input for Ministerial Correspondence, Requests for Information and other inputs as required.
  • Provide support to the leadership group as required. This may include undertaking:
  • minor research and investigation
  • statistical analysis
  • project work
